OUR IMPACT
WHY DDF SUPPORTS THE ARTS
Dance Discovery Foundation is raising funds to assist the implementation and continuation of dance and the performing arts within our public education system. By providing scholarships and preserving the performing art culture as a whole. We are committed to sustaining the vitality of our creative community and will continue to help and empower our community for years to come. In order to do this Dance Discovery Foundation has created vital, creative based outreach programs focused on increasing the exposure and access to dance and the performing arts education. At a time when arts education has been virtually eliminated within traditional schools, our Community Outreach Programs have never been more vital. Each program focuses on giving our community hope, a voice, improved health, education, and empowerment to individuals of all cognitive stages, abilities and ages. Each program provides free educational activities throughout Southern California, within schools and within the community.
93% of Americans consider the arts to be vital in providing a well-rounded education, and is a critical link to learning and success. Only 11% of public schools are meeting state goals for arts instruction. DDF was established in order to remedy the gap and provide the education and the exposure to the arts that our parents, youth and community expect.
DDF knows that movement, relating to rhythm and music is innate in all of us and is a part of all of our ancestries. DDF intends to use this knowledge of dance and the performing arts to support, improve and inspire our communities artistic potential and bring the community together.
The arts have been proven to impart individuals with discipline, a standard of excellence, and a self-confidence that positively impacts their education and their lives. The arts instill in individuals the ability to develop self awareness, problem solving skills, interactive capacities and aesthetic appreciation.
By providing the means to continue supporting the arts and the arts communities, children are able to obtain skills that are valuable towards a brighter future. DDF’s community outreach program makes it possible for the individuals within our community to learn, experience, experiment, risk, grow and share their work and ideas, to generate personal change and social reflection.
DANCE DISCOVERY FOUNDATION IS DEDICATED TO FOSTERING THE ARTS IN OUR SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA COMMUNITY AND BEYOND.
